a letter from home

Space to pause, take a breath in our hectic lives and spend time with family is surely the greatest gift of the period between Christmas and the start of each new year. It seems to be the only time when the pace of daily life seems to slow (both in the real and digital world) and provide time to stop and reflect but also to plan ahead. What is your favourite seasonal activity in January? Exploring new places with my family, dressing up warm, jumping in the car and going anywhere we haven’t been before or returning to one…

finishing touches

Important essentials and little extras can easily be forgotten during the festive season. Consider elements that evoke the scents, sights and tastes of the time of year. With regard to gifts, it is prudent to have indulgent goodies to hand in case of guests arriving with unexpected presents. For a final flourish, decorate areas of the home with eye-catching embellishments and thoughtful attention to detail.…
