What’s your favorite TV time of the year? Well, that’s kind of a trick question. We’re pretty sure it’s fall! I’m writing this editor’s note on the first day of summer, which means it’s the longest day of the year. The sun popped up at about 5:30am and will take its time across the sky, not setting till 8:30pm. But my mind is already looking forward to the days that are a little shorter, when the nights are much fuller with new television. This issue’s cover story is a revealing first look at new and returning shows—on broadcast, cable and streaming—that are premiering in autumn.
