Do you have a favorite precut? Do you ever make quilts using bundles of precut fabric pieces? Fat quarters, 5" charm squares, skinny strips, triangles, and hexagons— there is a variety of precuts from which to choose. We take a look at precut types and the tools that have been developed in response to their popularity in “We Love Precuts,” page 16. Most precut bundles contain one of each fabric in a single collection. A smaller collection may include duplicate fabrics, so be sure to read the packaging. These bundles are the perfect way to get an assortment of fabrics that look great together without spending a lot of money. A SHARP IDEA When I buy a five-pack of rotary-cutter blades, I write in marker on the small plastic case the numbers 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Each time I take out a new blade, I mark an X through the next descending number. This way I know at a glance how many blades I have left in the pack and when to think about buying more.
