A SNEAK PEEK AT WHAT’S HAPPENING IN THIS ISSUE Of course I adore every single project, recipe, and activity we feature in our pages—what kind of editor would I be if I didn’t? But if someone ever held me at (glue) gunpoint, I would readily confess that I play favorites. There are always some ideas I simply can’t wait to make/do/try with my family at home. So in the spirit of full disclosure, I’m sharing a few of mine and hope you will too. Just tag me on Instagram @elizanneshaw! 1. The dino brooches on page 15 . They’re ferociously cute! staying connected

“I think that when people with dementia are happy and see things that mean a lot to them, it helps with their memory.” —Hailey Richman, age 9 how she got started When Hailey was 4 years old, her grandma (whom Hailey calls her best friend) was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease . After the diagnosis, Hailey’s mom, Emma Richman, reached out to the founder of Puzzles to Remember, a charity that gives jigsaw puzzles to nursing homes, veterans institutions, and other facilities that care for dementia patients, to ask how her family could get involved. Hailey soon became passionate about delivering and completing puzzles with the residents at her grandma’s nursing home. Later that year, Hailey was named honorary assistant director of the organization, and four years later, the “honorary” was dropped. She…
