Changing landscape We know the general rule of art is to “look, not touch” but can you really blame us for wanting to fall face first into these textile pieces by artist, Pi Williams? Their squish-factor is off the charts. Her larger-than-life abstract works are created from Pi’s home in Australia, using a combination of yarn and varying fabrics (such as tulle, leather and raffia). An ode to the colour blue, that’s one way of describing Elise Chu Miow Lin’s work. Based in France, Elise is the embroidery artist behind Fukanō Kanō, and she has something of a knack for blending the line between sketching and stitching, making use of monochrome outlines to recreate her linework drawings in thread. “Blue is definitely my favourite colour,” she admits. “But to be honest, I have a passion for colours in general.
