Daffodils are one of my favourite flowers because they scream sunshine, happiness and hope that better times are ahead – or warmer ones at least! They also represent the Marie Curie Daffodil Appeal. Every year, this charity sells pins to support nurses who care for people living with a terminal illness. This year, it has also created a ‘Garden of Light’ – boasting 2,100 illuminated daffodils, one for each Marie Curie nurse. They’re on display in London Paternoster Square until 12 March and St Andrew’s Square, Edinburgh, on the 16th.
