HAVING MET UP at Macclesfield so I can fill up our long-term Suzuki GSX-S1000 GT, we nip up the road to our official start at therejuvenated Cat and Fiddle. It’s great to see it open again, even in a different form (the nation’s highest distillery, apparently, as a café), after so long closed and unloved.
Over a quick coffee, and a quick look at the other bikes parked up, I remind Emma that she’d warned me in advance that shewas very slow, very nervy, and that she was worried I’d be bored following her on these wonderful roads. But she’s just zipped up the twisty bit from Macc quickly, smoothly and apparently with plenty of confidence. What’s going on?
