Mashudu Sadike mashudu.sadike@inl.co.za SOME bereaved families of the victims of an alleged serial killer in Limpopo could not identify their loved ones at the morgue because their faces had been disfigured.
Zimbabwean national Themba Dube, 36, who is in the country illegally, appeared at the Seshego Magistrate’s Court on seven counts of kidnapping and seven counts of murder.
He was arrested over the weekend for kidnapping, raping, and killing seven women aged between 25 and 48, found dumped in bushes around Seshego, Polokwane, Mankweng and Westernburg.
The victims – Sarah Moitswadi Mathiba, Moleboheng Mothibeli, Eva Khomotso Makhura, Mpho Sanah, Sinyatsi Cholo, Chisimango Gumbo, and Jane Letswalo, were allegedly murdered between August and October.
Dube pointed out all the graves to the police, and the victims were exhumed for identification.
