Felix Forest This “French soon-to-be- French/Australian” photographer splits his time between Sydney and Paris. Forest says the creative process is “not dissimilar to a big puzzle”, with each piece “an idea on its own that can potentially evolve into other ideas”. This issue, he worked on our ‘Viva Italia!’ shoot (page 30), which showcases Forest’s appreciation for light and darkness. Anna-Wili Highfield This Sydney-based artist, who has collaborated with Hermès and designer Bianca Spender, finds inspiration in transforming an abstract energy or idea into material form to find balance and beauty. “One of the videos produced at Milan Design Week for vogueliving.com.au opens with the intriguing installation by Swedish fashion brand Cos. A large bubble lands on the palm of my hand and vanishes in — quite literally — a puff of smoke. Mesmerising in its transience yet lingering in the memory, and a metaphor perhaps for Design Week itself. The Italian city’s annual design carnival is the largest on the planet and the most important, but being there can feel like a visual and sensory merry-go-round, spinning ever faster.
