THIS MORNING, I picked up my phone for the first time today, and went to turn off Sleep mode… and I couldn’t remember how. The process had just sort of slipped from me. I tapped the alarm button that appears when Sleep mode is on, but that just takes you to the alarms screen. I ended up using my Watch to turn it off instead, because I know 100% where to find it on there. I mention this not because I want some free advice about memory deterioration (or do I? Perhaps it just slipped my mind), but because it struck me that despite being a very simple design overall, the Lock screen on iOS can be surprisingly complicated, and iOS 15 is only going to make it more so when…

After Apple announced the latest generation of the world’s best–selling watch in a virtual event on September 14, orders opened on October 8. Apple Watch 7 starts at $399, the same price as the previous generation. It is available in two sizes, 41mm and 45mm (as compared with 40mm and 44mm in the previous generation). The design has been subtly refined with softer, more rounded corners, and the display has a refractive edge that makes full–screen watch faces and apps appear to seamlessly connect with the curvature of the case, Apple says.
