Opening a quilt shop is a dream of many quilters. As a matter of fact, I seriously considered it at a time when my professional life was at a fork in the road. While I didn’t take that fork, I’m reminded of it with every issue of Quilt Sampler® magazine, where twice a year we share the stories of 10 shop owners who made that dream come true. In this issue, we feature a husband and wife who opened a shop in retirement (page 48), a restaurateur who decided to go into the business when her two local quilt shops closed (page 108), and a young woman who found her calling as a shop owner after finishing college (page 8).
