HOW TO WORK A HEMSTITCH EDGE Step one To work the hemstitches, use two strands of stranded cotton in a colour that matches your linen fabric. We have used a contrasting colour thread in these photos so you can see it more clearly. Anchor your thread in one corner of the linen, at the outer point of the mitred corner, and work some tiny slip stitches to hold the mitred corner in place.
