This winter I’m more focused on meaningful experiences than gifting—ones where I will either learn something, spend slowed-down, quality time with people I love, help someone in need, or be exposed to inspiring new ideas. Many of the people in this issue are masters at creating innovative environments and spaces—from Claire Darrow Mosier, the creative genius behind Andre Balazs’s pitch-perfect hotels like Chiltern Firehouse in London and The Standards in New York, to Rachel Craven, who expertly gathers the Los Angeles creative community twice a year at the Echo Park Craft Fair.
