THE LIMITING FACTOR
There’s an old saying among riflemen that goes something like, “Whatever you spend on your rifle, you need to spend at least double that much on the optics.” The logic behind the advice is solid: If you want your rifle to achieve its full potential, you need to make damned sure your optics aren’t holding you back. But that was then, and this is now. Don’t misunderstand me here: The premise above still holds true, but the need to spend a set amount does not. If you want to achieve the sub-MOA accuracy that nearly every rifle manufacturer is holding their rifles to these days, then you certainly can’t skimp on the glass.
