Rooftop poolscapes inject a sorely needed dose of nature into urban landscapes. They are the latest must-have luxury in commercial and residential projects. “They are tremendously popular around the country—everyone is jumping on the rooftop bandwagon,” says Shannon Knaub, a sales and design manager for Frederick, Colorado-based Diamond Spas, which specializes in custom pools and spas. “Architects and designers are making rooftop pools part of their plans from the beginning.” With high-end kitchens, fire pits, sun shelves, and water features, these sky-high resorts are every bit as elegant and elaborate as their down-to-earth peers.
