For as long as I can remember, my family has been a Sunrise household. All the big news stories, from the Beaconsfield mining disaster to the Lindt Café siege, were brought to us by the inimitable David ‘Kochie’ Koch. So it’s with sadness that we farewell Kochie this week after more than 20 years in the top job, as he goes on to enjoy a well-earned retirement with his lovely wife, Libby. Luckily for me, it’s not goodbye and more of a see you later, because he tells us on page 12 that he plans to spend more time at my beloved Port Adelaide Football Club. Colleagues or lovers? That’s the question hanging over Carrie Bickmore and Tommy Little’s heads at the moment, and it seems the pair are doing very little to dispel the rumours. Last week, Carrie, 42, and Tommy, 38, jetted off to Far North Queensland, where they attended the Cannes in Cairns media event. While the duo seemed careful not to publicly post about their attendance, fellow radio star Abbie Chatfield gave the game away by sharing an Instagram photo of the three of them at the festival. It once seemed unthinkable that Kim Cattrall would be part of the Sex and the City reboot series, And Just Like That – but it’s happening! Kim, 66, will appear in the upcoming second season in a minor cameo. According to Variety, the actress shot her scenes without speaking to or seeing the rest of the cast, including Sarah Jessica Parker. Original Sex and the City costume designer Patricia Field dressed Kim for her scene, despite not taking part in And Just Like That. Over the years Kim has spoken openly about her tension with SJP, 58. Benedict Cumberbatch was the victim of a scary home invasion, according to newly released court documents. The British actor, his wife Sophie Hunter, and their three young sons were at their London residence when former chef Jack Bissell forced his way onto the property. After kicking through the front iron gate, Bissell wielded a fish knife and shouted: “I know you’ve moved here, I hope it burns down.” Bissell also caused other damage to the property’s garden and intercom. It is unclear why the former Beaumont Hotel employee targeted Benedict, 46, and Bissell offered no explanation in his defence. The 35-year-old plead guilty, resulting in a $470 fine and a three-year restraining order that prevents him from going near the still-shaken family.…

Jane Fonda and Kate Winslet had simultaneous brain farts at last month’s Cannes Film Festival, when they excitedly introduced themselves to each other on the red carpet – despite actually meeting eight years earlier! In video footage captured at the event, Kate, 47, can be heard telling Jane, 85, that they’d “never met”. Jane then proceeds to tell Kate how much she loved her in her 1999 movie, Holy Smoke! “The one you did with Harvey [Keitel] where you came out naked and urinated on yourself … you’re so good. After jumping from Studio 10 to The Project, Sarah Harris thought things would be on the up and up – but cruel trolls quickly derailed any sense of comfort she was looking for. In February, comedian Ruben Kaye appeared on The Project and made a controversial ‘Jesus gaffe’.
