Opening the ‘door’ to a ‘bezel’ discussion
The vintage vehicle hobby is a wonderfully diverse place filled with one- to sixteen-cylinder powerplants, sports cars to heavy-duty trucks, economy to luxury cars, and an equally varied vocabulary when it comes to discussing these old cars and trucks and their parts. While recently discussing the topic of restoration and restoration parts with my friend Tom Truhlar, the variety in vocabulary to describe car parts arose. Since language is a big part of my activity in our hobby, I find it particularly fascinating, and sometimes frustrating, that people will use different terms to describe the same part.
