where do i moor my ship?

A huge gap separates Italy the great ship builder from Italy that should provide docking places for them. The former, worldwide known excellency and the latter, nationally found wanting. Paradoxically, the divergence between the dream cars we can produce and the despicable state of our streets provides the issue with a sort of inner coherence. Whatever the reason, this wonderful natural bridge that pushes Europe to the middle of the Mediterranean Sea could be, as such, a unique paradise for high-class yachting;it is, in fact, home to hasty touch-and-go, where “touch” conveys how adventurous a stop can be made by the lack of adequate docks, for capacity or depth. “Go” stands for heading to less fascinating places as soon as possible, less rich in history maybe but definitely safer and…

ferretti yachts 860

Ferretti Yachts 860 is the new concept from the Cattolica based yard, stemming from the cooperation between the Product Strategic Committee, headed by engineer Piero Ferrari, and Ferretti-Group Engineering Department. External design is Filippo Salvetti’s work, his third for Ferretti Yachts, the internal one is signed Ideaeitalia. Externally, full height glasses and crystal rope pulleys are easily noted, although the general impression clearly sticks with the yard family feeling and their latest yachts. As for the interior, round and harmonic lines stick out, matching outstanding elements like the winding stair on the main deck and the freestanding furniture art-deco style. Following ferretti’s “Just like Home” philosophy, designers came up with the ultimate solutions for a smooth interior-exterior interaction, also thanks to the opening glass windows on both gunwales and an…
