alienware aurora r11

From $2,399, www.dell.com The Alienware Aurora R11, for a lot of people, is probably going to be what defines a prebuilt gaming PC in 2020. Because, for years, Alienware has become synonymous with “gaming PC” for a lot of people that don’t generally pay attention to the hardware scene. This of course leads to the brand being able to charge some pretty high prices for its computers, and the Aurora R11 is certainly no different. To start with, the Alienware Aurora R11 with an Intel Core i5-10400F, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650, 8GB of RAM and a 1TB spinning hard drive will cost $2,399 – a configuration that in no way will feel as premium as other gaming desktops in its price range. We seriously don’t understand why anyone would provide a…

windows 10’s next update could pop up earlier in 2021 – but you might be disappointed

Windows 10’s H1 2021 update could be in the last stages of finalisation ahead of its launch in the first half of next year – but as we’ve already heard, you probably shouldn’t get too excited about this one. That’s because the H1 2021 update will only be a minor upgrade, according to the rumor mill, much like the October 2020 Update was – and if this happens, it would be an unprecedented move for Microsoft in terms of rolling out a minor affair twice in a row (normally, the first update of the year ushers in major changes). Nevertheless, according to sources who’ve been tapped by Windows Latest, this will be a minor upgrade, and Microsoft is about to finalise the RTM build. Indeed, the RTM release may have already been…

this new google photos feature turns your snaps into 3d cinematic images

The new addition to the service’s Memories feature, which serves up both recent and old highlights from your photos collection, will start to appear in the app “over the next month”, according to Google. The Cinematic photos feature will work on all images, even those that don’t have the depth information gathered by portrait modes. Instead, Google says that its machine learning (what else) will predict an image’s depth and produce a 3D representation of the scene. The result is an effect that looks like a cross between a pop-up book and the dolly zoom effect, although it’s slightly less dramatic and terrifying than famous example of the latter in Jaws. Instead, Cinematic photos provide a smooth zooming effect that’s certainly eye-catching and could work nicely for some well-framed people shots. The incoming…

5 things i learned in my first apple fitness plus workout

Apple Fitness Plus has launched, and it’s something I’ve been itching to try. Since we first heard about it back on September 15, the idea of expanding the workouts from your Apple Watch into a more interactive and vibrant experience is pretty good. When you take your pick from a number of classes – such as yoga, core, strength or a cycling workout – you’ll start the session and see your live heart rate on the screen, along with the calorie burn and your ‘rings’, Apple’s metric to chart how often you’re moving, exercising and standing each day, filling up in the corner. While I need to test the service more fully, I fired up a 20 minute high intensity interval training (HIIT) workout, chose ‘Upbeat hits’ and got cracking to see…
