new rules for 2020

Every series of Strictly takes months of meticulous planning. But, this year, the team also had to react to changing health-and-safety guidelines in response to the coronavirus pandemic. We will still have a group dance with the celebrities, but where they usually all dance together, this year they’ll just be dancing with their professional partners for that number.’ TESTING TIMES ‘The contestants will be tested regularly, and, unfortunately, if someone receives a positive test, that means they wouldn’t…

‘my journey of discovery’

“THE PAST IS EXCITING – IT THROWS UP INTERESTING IDEAS” WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? MONDAY / BBC1 / 9PM / EP 2 of 4 / FACTUAL David Walliams has always been intrigued by a series of beautiful pictures that belonged to his adored paternal grandmother, Ivy. They were rumoured to have been painted by a relative who suffered from shell shock after serving in World War One, and became the starting point for the Britain’s Got Talent judge’s exploration of his family tree for this week’s episode of BBC1’s Who Do You Think You Are?. The images led David to uncover the harrowing experiences of his great-grandfather, Ivy’s dad John Boorman, who was left with debilitating mental illness after fighting at Ypres and the Somme with the Grenadier Guards. But there were happier discoveries,…
