STRICTLY COME DANCING SATURDAY & SUNDAY / BBC1 / 7.25PM / ENTERTAINMENT ‘I hope I encourage others to dance’ Actor Caroline, 60, is taking to the floor with Johannes What made you want to trip the light fantastic on Strictly? I’m hoping I’m actually going to learn some proper skills on this show. When you do a musical, as a slightly older person you’ll be taught a few steps, then other dancers make you look good. I’m excited about working one-on-one with a professional dancer and spending every day with someone who’s really good at something. Which dances are you most excited about learning? HIS DARK MATERIALS NEW SUNDAY / BBC1 / 8.10PM / EP 1 of 7 / DRAMA Breathtaking fantasy was effortlessly blended with moving teenage rites of passage when BBC1’s epic drama His Dark Materials, based on Philip Pullman’s much-loved trilogy of novels, made its debut last year. Now, Lyra has travelled through the same portal to the seemingly abandoned city of…

John has been missing for years, but can he reunite with his son and unlock the secrets of a fabled knife? Also listen out for John’s daemon, osprey Sayan Kötör, voiced by Andrew’s Fleabag co-star Phoebe Waller-Bridge. ‘So much that’s beautiful about the series is the relationship with the daemons,’ says Andrew, 44. ‘It’s all about friendship and loyalty, and that’s what I feel about Phoebe.’ Movie legend Terence Stamp plays Giacomo Paradisi, the elderly bearer of the subtle knife, who resides in an imposing tower. Meanwhile, Cleaning Up’s Jade Anouka is formidable witch queen Ruta Skadi and Peaky Blinders star Simone Kirby…
