I’ve never been a big drinker, but I’ve found myself reaching for a glass of wine more often than not in the evening over the past 12 months. From virtual drinks with family and friends to the cheeky after-work Aperol Spritz, it’s easy to go a full week without any alcohol-free days (or“AFDs” as WHO’s Associate Editor Mel coined them). While I don’t think I could be a teetotaller (I enjoy a glass of red with a good meal far too much – go to page 73 for our top picks), I’ve found myself becoming“sober curious” – and I’m not alone.
