It’s WHO’s 30th birthday issue and, even if we do say so ourselves, it’s a good one! We’re taking a look back at the most riveting news stories from the past 30 years. Thousands of people welcomed tradie runner Nedd Brockmann home to Bondi Beach at 5.30pm on October 17, after the 23-year-old completed his epic 3800km run from Perth. An exhausted Brockmann raised over $1.5 million for homelessness charity, We Are Mobilise. He began his 46-day mission in Cottesloe on September 1, packing in an incredible 10 hours and up to 100km per day on the road. Brockmann celebrated his epic feat from the balcony of the North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club with a champagne shower and a ‘shoey’ to the delight of crowds before reconnecting with family and friends. Anybody who’s anybody put their best designer-adorned foot forward for the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles on October 15. Actress Jessica Chastain was ‘galavanting’ in Oscar de la Renta at the star-studded A-list event, while Reese Witherspoon called her friend Selma Blair “radiant” in her monochromatic Thom Browne look, after Blair shared a snap with actress Regina Hall, who wore a white, feathered dress by David Koma. Blair called the evening “truly enchanting” and “powerful” on social media. “Walking through the iconic space of the Academy Museum breathed a new awe and admiration of our cinematic and artistic productions, our history, and future.” Kerry Washington was there, too, in Prabal Gurung, as was Jodie Turner-Smith in glittering green Gucci. Kate Walsh and her farmer fiancé, Andrew Nixon, look like they’re already in the honeymoon phase, after confirming that they’re set to tie the knot. The American actress, 55, and Nixon were spotted looking completely smitten while taking a dip near their Perth home, relishing in the news. The couple announced their engagement during an Instagram Live session with Walsh’s actress friend, Amy Brenneman. “That is my fiancé,” the Emily in Paris star spilled to her 4.3 million followers. With Nixon in the shot, she flashed her diamond engagement ring, “I just outed our engagement,” she laughed, two years after they met on a cruise. Just five months after becoming a couple, star of The Big Bang Theory Kaley Cuoco and her Ozark star boyfriend, Tom Pelphrey, are already calling themselves “parents”. In a series of sweet Instagram posts, Cuoco, 36, announced she’s “beyond blessed and over the moon” that she’s due to have her first baby – a girl – in 2023. Pelphrey made his own announcement too, writing, “And then it was even MORE BETTER. Robbie Coltrane starred in two James Bond films and popular British series, Cracker, but he will be remembered by generations as Rubeus Hagrid in J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter films. Coltrane passed away on October 14, at the age of 72, near his home town of Falkirk, Scotland. Emma Watson, who played Hermione Granger in the eight-film franchise, said in a social media tribute, “Robbie, if I ever get to be so kind as you were to me on a film set, I promise I’ll do it in your name and memory.”…
