I loved the story, I loved working with all those fantastic people, all those familiar faces in front of and behind the camera. Eric jumps to the wrong conclusion when he sees a tipsy Nicole leaving a bar with EJ. “They’re both drunk,” explains Dan Feuerriegel (EJ). “EJ is grieving, and he finds a sad Nicole at the bar. She’s been there for him in the past, when he’s tried to deal with things. So he sits down with her, they talk about life, and they get drunk. At this point in time, it’s all very innocent. EJ’s just looking out for her.” The two men exchange words. “EJ’s antagonistic,” admits Feuerriegel. “He says a few awful things to Eric. He goads him on. A string of disappointments leaves Cody questioning his decision to conceal that the DNA test results proved that he is, indeed, Mac’s son. According to Josh Kelly (Cody), his character lied not only due to his greedy desire to lay claim to Leopold Taub’s necklace. “The way that I’ve kind of interpreted it is that there’s a whole lot of pressure to be Mac’s son, because everyone thinks that Mac is the greatest guy ever,” he explains. “Cody never really had a father, but it would be a lot easier for him to think that he is the way he is because his genetic father was a terrible person.
