AER 557 There are many adjectives one can apply to e-scooters. Convenient. Efficient. Fast. Not currently road legal. But rarely will you find them described as ‘graceful’ – at least that is until now. The AER 557 is like the iPod of electric scooters: although it’s far from the first, it may well be the product that defines the design language of all the vehicles that zip along in its tracks. Not only does it have a gorgeous aesthetic, with slow curves and beautifully rounded lines, but it’s also ergonomically designed for stability: its 20-inch wheels can slide gleefully over small bumps and its wide anti-slip bamboo deck makes it easy to find a comfortable position to stand. Being able to glide effortlessly along without constantly having to correct one’s stance…

editor’s letter

There’s always bit of a time dilation effect between me writing this opening salvo and you receiving it. Some blame this on our decision to use wormholes for our distribution each month – I, however, stand by it. Regardless, at least at the time of writing, it’s seriously hot at T3 Towers. I’m talking Central-Line-during-rushhour hot. Hotter than a Scotch Bonnet handling mishap. Given we’re tech journalists – and therefore about as equipped to deal with scorching sun as an earthworm is to play Chopin’s Etude in G# minor on piano – we’ve spent much of our time over the last few weeks focusing on beating the heat. And short of donning full-blown stillsuits and riding the mighty Shai-Hulud, we think we’ve come up with the perfect shortlist of gear and…

t3’s mission

Our mission is to bring you the clearest recommendations we can – and that means a great deal of hard work happens before a product even reaches our pages! Because we only feature products the T3 team would happily use ourselves, we end up discarding a significant number of options in each category before settling on a final shortlist to review. We select only the best of the best for our Tested section; the gear we know you’ll want to seriously consider purchasing. And that should mean an end to you having to undertake hours of painstaking research and product comparisons. You won’t see any duff products, but you will come away with clarity on which one is the best in its category or for a specific task: our awards badges (see…

1 BEOVISION HARMONY 88” From £49,000, bang-olufsen.com We can all pretty much agree, even after accounting for every little caveat, that OLED is the premier TV tech of our time. But engineering limitations mean OLED in its current form can only go so far and grow so large. Mid-last year LG took it to the limit with the Z9, an 88-inch monster of a TV – now here comes the unlikely form of audio specialist Bang & Olufsen, upgrading its Harmony platform and spinning a full-size LGmanufactured panel into its first 8K TV. It’s an ultra-premium model, as is B&O’s remit, and one which might at last be deserving of the high price that 88-inch OLEDs command. The obvious highlight is that enormous, bright 8K OLED, imbued with Dolby Vision HDR and the…
