BERETTA USA Beretta now offers a new pistol size for their M9A4 line with the M9A4 Centurion pistol. This handgun features the same grip size as its predecessor with a 4.8-inch barrel and accompanying shorter slide. The new offering delivers a host of features, including dovetailed tritium night sights, a beveled magazine well, a Beretta Vertec frame with textured 92X-style thin grips and optional wrap-around grips that mimic the traditional 92-size frame. The slide is cut to accept optics and ships with blank covers. The company is offering one out of the five available mounting plates with the purchase. MSRP is $1,100. Daniel Defense has long been a go-to for professional-grade rifles. Their guns are not only popular with the civilian market but are also found in SWAT teams and special operations units around the world. As with any company that has made a big, successful splash, you might expect Daniel Defense to sit back and smoke a celebratory cigar and revel in their position. You were only born with one set of eyes and ears, and you should do your best to protect them. I wish I had followed that advice. I recently had laser surgery done on my eyes, and the doctor informed me that I had a huge scar on my retina. That was news to me, and the good doc told me how I was lucky that I wasn’t blind in that eye.
