Tithi or lunar day, as you are aware, is the time taken by the Sun and Moon to increase the angular distance between them by 12o. It takes 30 Tithis to complete a cycle of 360o. Sun is considered to be the Atma and Moon is reckoned as Jiva Atma (Sutton, 2007). Hence, each Tithi indicates a certain level of intercommunication between Atma and Jivatma.
