your say

Three reasons your top 10 stinksAre you guys out of your minds? Your expansion logo ranking (Top 10, Jan. 23) is just as bad as your 100 People of Power and Influence choices. First of all, let’s not forget the enormous fame and popularity the Mighty Ducks logo had in 1993-94 and years after. Second, holy h-e-double hockey sticks, the Sharks logo is No. 2? Third, the Panthers logo could easily be in discussion for a top three spot. The Vegas logo is terrible just like their team will be. The writer of this article needs to blow ice and jump off the Zamboni wagon.BRAD CHARTIER, LIGONIER, PA.A whale of a songI know Matt Larkin was just rating the goal songs of the current teams (The Countdown, Jan. 23), but…

maple leaf moments

THN BOOK REVIEWOn Feb. 17, 1927, the Toronto St. Pats, formerly the Toronto Arenas, were set for a re-branding. After an ownership scare brought together 14 Toronto-area businessmen to buy the team, they decided to change the name, logo and jersey design, and the Toronto Maple Leafs were born.Bob Duff’s Maple Leaf Moments brings fans of the Blue and White a look at the storied history of one of the game’s most polarizing and popular franchises.
