Getting a still image or video recording of what’s happening on your Mac’s screen can be useful for many purposes, including showing other people how to do things. Until now, macOS’s screen-grabbing facilities were split between keyboard shortcuts, the Grab utility and QuickTime Player. In Mojave, all these options come together.
You can take a still image or recording of the whole screen, a window or a selection, set a timer if necessary, and choose if the cursor will be visible. Before the result is stored in your preferred location, it pops up in the corner of the screen, as in iOS, so you can either ignore it and let it save, or click it to crop, trim or annotate it first.
