When winter days start to wear a bit heavy on the soul, it’s time to turn toward the promise of spring. The season of renewal awaits with bright days and even brighter possibilities—for ourselves and our homes. A sunny outlook threads throughout this issue. In “French Twist,” page 34, designers Eleanor Cummings and Megan Phillips took chic elements of Parisian style and translated them into a light, bright, sophisticated home that works for a young Houston family. This isn’t Louis XV’s French style. “Had we really stuck with the true French style, the interiors would have told a different story,” Phillips says. “Furniture would have been much darker and fabrics would have been heavier.
