sound from any angle?

Described by manufacturer Piega as 'universally deployable', the AP 1.2 is designed to function as a desktop, on-wall, on-ceiling or upfiring speaker, courtesy of its supplied mounting bracket/stand, compact form (it's 28cm high) and tuning for close-to-wall positions. Within the pyramidal aluminium cabinet reside a 140mm midbass driver and the same ribbon tweeter found in Piega's Premium Series models. anthem revamps arc eq

Canadian audio corp Anthem has released an update to its proprietary Room EQ system ARC. The new iteration, ARC Genesis, is backwards-compatible with Anthem's second-and third-generation MRX AV receivers (710, 510, 310 and 1120, 720, 520) running ARC, plus its AVM 60 processor, and is available as a free download. One new feature of the room correction software is prosaic–support for both Windows and Mac operating systems (previously ARC was Windows-only). More important is Anthem's claim of improved algorithms to deliver a better performance, and the introduction of a range of bonus features. New tricks include a streamlined UI with improvements to workflow, help menus, and interactive acoustic graphs; a Professional Mode offering whole-system target curves adjustable using room gain, deep bass boost, and tilt controls; a Remeasure facility allowing for swift…

Fast & Furious 8 (Ultra HD Blu-ray) Before heading out to see spin-off flick Hobbs and Shaw, a re-run of the eighth Fast and Furious movie was obviously in order. Crash, bang, wallop! Jaws (Sky Cinema) Spielberg's classic is available in UHD via Sky and looks sublime. Surely an Ultra HD Blu-ray release (2020 for its 45th anniversary?) can't be far away. Anaconda Quadrilogy (BD) While the original 1997 flick is clearly the series' high-point, fans of giant snake movies will love 88 Films' new boxset. In Bruges: Limited Edition (BD) Picture quality differences are minimal over the film's previous BD release, but this chucks in new extras, including a 50-page book. Crack in the World (BD) Paramount's 1964 sci-fi movie enjoys a new lease of life in HD via 101 Films, and gets a fact-packed chat track.…
