Bushmills To Double Capacity…. Bushmills will invest over $77 million throughout the next five years as it looks to double production capacity by 2024. Launched in April 2017, the 41% abv Bushmills Red Bush ($23 a 750-ml.) has shown huge potential, the company says, nearly doubling its sales last year. Now, Bushmills is rolling out a new ad campaign for Red Bush—which is a blend of single malt and single grain whiskey matured in first-fill Bourbon casks—called “Red. Set. Go.” Produced by Vice Media’s commercial studio Virtue, the 60-second spot depicts young Belfast adults having a night out in back alleys and underground clubs. Marvin R. Shanken, the chairman and founder of M. Shanken Communications, Inc., received the lifetime achievement award from the Association of Magazine Media on February 5 in downtown Manhattan. Shanken is the editor and publisher of Market Watch, Impact, Shanken News Daily and the new Shanken News Daily Cannabis Edition, Wine Spectator, Whisky Advocate, and Cigar Aficionado, as well as numerous digital properties. Washington, D.C.: Todd Thrasher Unveils Tiki Bar And Distillery Celebrated bartender Todd Thrasher launched a spirits-focused project in December, opening the bar Tiki TNT inside his new venture, Potomac Distilling Co., in Washington, D.C.’s District Wharf area. Thrasher, who is well known in the cocktail scene within and around the nation’s capital, unveiled the concept in a three-story space along the Potomac River. A Polynesian-style venue, Tiki TNT boasts several bar areas, including a rooftop garden space.
