Ever wonder how we choose our covers? The decision to run one photo over another is probably the single most important call we make each month. Not only does it highlight our content, but it can significantly affect whether you buy the magazine. Our loyal readers, who regularly buy us at the newsstand, don’t judge us by our cover because they know what’s inside will satisfy, but the rest of those newsstand dawdlers… don’t. Occasional buyers need to be swayed by an arresting cover image, a big name they follow, a promise of a must-have recipe, or 30 pages of bathrooms, for example….
