1 Walking down from the car park, check the hedges and trees for House Sparrow, Dunnock, Wren, Blackbird, Song Thrush, Robin and Woodpigeon to get you started. Pause on the footbridge and check the first pool for Mallard, Goosander, Coot, and Moorhen, and always look out for Kingfisher.
2 At the next pool, check for Mallard, Grey Heron, and Mute Swan, and any reeds for Reed Bunting or Reed Warbler and, again, keep a look out for a Kingfisher.
3 Keep checking the woods and hillside for all three tits, possible Great Spotted Woodpecker, Treecreeper, Spotted Flycatcher, Willow Warbler, Blackcap, Chiffchaff and the open areas for that great aviator, the Buzzard, thermalling.…
