Spring wasn’t particularly generous in giving us enticing opportunities to dine al fresco, but we’re hoping for much better from the summer. In anticipation, we’ve packed this issue full of inspiration to take mealtimes outside. We’ve got a gorgeous selection of picnic recipes from page 12, and some fresh ideas for the barbecue if cooking on gas appeals to you more (page 26). Whichever option you choose, you’ll probably want to accompany the main dishes with some supercharged salads (page 66). And if you’re not the designated driver, you could even enjoy a decadent summer cocktail or two (page 100).
