just like mum

Anyone looking at photos from model Kaia Gerber’s 18th birthday party held in New York on September 6 would have been forgiven for thinking they’d been transported back in time – back to September 1992, in fact, when Gerber’s mother, supermodel Cindy Crawford, attended that year’s MTV Video Music Awards. Gerber paid the ultimate tribute to her mum, modelling her entire look on Crawford’s Versace outfit from the awards show – right down to its gold buckles. As she stepped out to her birthday bash at the Edition hotel in New York City, Gerber looked the spitting image of her then 26-year-old mother – from her big hair and smoky black eye makeup to the strappy black bustier she paired with a black leather miniskirt. The daughter of Crawford, now 53, and…

princess problems

Riding in the back seat with Queen Elizabeth on the way to Crathie church near Balmoral Castle on August 25, Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton wore a navy coat over her Michael Kors shirt dress – and a beaming smile. With Prince William seated in the front seat of their limo, the couple – along with their three children, Prince George, 6, Princess Charlotte, 4, and Prince Louis, 1 – were keeping up the royal tradition of seeing out summer at the family’s 93-year-old monarch’s summer estate in Scotland. Missing from this year’s gathering were Prince Harry and Meghan Markle who, aside from adjusting to life as new parents to 4-month-old son Archie, were coping with full schedules and increasing media scrutiny. Meghan (dubbed ‘Duchess Difficult’ by the UK press)…

school’s in session

Walking hand-in-hand with her mother Kate Middleton, Princess Charlotte began her first day of school on Thursday, September 5. The 4-year-old royal is attending Thomas’s Battersea, a private school near the family’s Kensington Palace home that her brother Prince George has been going to for the past two years. The princess wore her navy and red uniform but added a personal touch to her school backpack – a sparkly pink unicorn key chain. In a video uploaded to the family’s Kensington Royal Instagram account, the Duchess of Cambridge is heard having a casual conversation with the head of the lower school, Helen Haslem, who also attended George’s first day. ‘’How are you? Did you have a nice summer?’’ Kate asked. Shortly after, Haslem walked the family to the doors of the school and…

jeffrey epstein shock new details

PRINCE ANDREW HAS once again been drawn into the escalating sex scandal involving disgraced multimillionaire Jeffrey Epstein. It’s been revealed the Duke of York flew on Epstein’s private jet – dubbed ‘the Lolita Express’ – just weeks after the financier was arrested for child prostitution charges in 2006. According to London’s The Sun newspaper, the duke flew on Epstein’s Gulfstream jet from Luton to Edinburgh on September 1, 2006. Also aboard the flight was Ghislaine Maxwell, who has been accused of procuring underage girls for Epstein. “It is another example of Andrew’s close ties to the Epstein scandal,” a source told The Sun. The duke’s name appears in a handwritten flight manifesto kept by pilot David Rodgers. Maxwell’s initials are also in the manifesto, which was among court papers relating to Epstein…

unnamed victim reveals her identity

THE PREVIOUSLY UNNAMED woman sexually assaulted by American college student Brock Turner has revealed her identity ahead of the release of her memoir. Chanel Miller, known as Emily Doe during Turner’s trial, will release Know My Name at the end of the month, and in the book writes about the brutal January 2015 attack, its aftermath and her recovery. In her research, the 27-year-old writer and artist from San Francisco, California, gained access to court documents and witness statements she’d not seen during the trial. Miller’s 7000-word victim impact statement was read at Turner’s sentencing in 2016, and later viewed by millions when it was published online. In it, Miller wrote about how she’d learnt details of her sexual assault by reading newspaper reports. She described how she felt compelled to “relearn…

tragic death of an afl great

The news that retired AFL star and media personality Danny Frawley passed away a day after his 56th birthday when his car hit a tree east of Ballarat, Victoria, around 1.30pm on September 9, has been met with a flood of tributes from the grieving football community and stunned fans. “How do we make sense of the shock passing of Danny Frawley,” tweeted Collingwood player and coach Tony Shaw. “A respected competitor, a loyal and ever-supportive assistant but more importantly, a bloody good bloke and friend.” Frawley, known as ‘Spud’ for his early days as a Ballarat potato farmer, captained the St Kilda Saints, for whom he played as fullback. He hung up his boots in 1995 and moved into coaching, first with Collingwood before landing the senior coaching position at Richmond,…
