costume drama

Back in 2001, Heidi Klum set the bar high, dressing as a bloody but clothed version of Lady Godiva and riding on horseback into her first annual Halloween celebration. She’s been winning the event ever since. Teasing this year’s costume, “It’s going to be a scary one,” the supermodel said. “I usually sit in hair and makeup for like 10 hours. It takes a long time.” From a 95-year-old woman to an all-blue Indian goddess, take a look back at the mother of four’s most over-the-top outfits. Check out how other stars are prepping on p.4…

pick of the patch!

IN A WIDE-RANGING INTERVIEW for the 10th anniversary of her reality TV series, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, mother-of-two Kim Kardashian West talks about her “mom guilt” when juggling parenting and work (see p. 32). But the businesswoman appeared to have all angles covered, nailing the role on Oct. 17 when she took time out with daughter North, 4, and son, Saint, who turns 2 in December, at a pumpkin patch ahead of Halloween. While choosing the perfect pumpkin for Oct. 31 was the main aim of the visit to Westlake in Los Angeles, the family (minus Dad Kanye West) enjoyed the bouncy slide and rope walk. Kardashian West—who has confirmed she and West are expecting their third baby via surrogate—had to ditch her stiletto boots to cuddle a beaming…

‘I KNEW ENOUGH’ Quentin Tarantino has told The New York Times he “knew enough to do more than I did” about allegations against Weinstein, because former girlfriend Mira Sorvino had told him how Weinstein had treated her. AS SEXUAL HARASSMENT and assault claims against Harvey Weinstein reverberate, Reese Witherspoon has revealed she was assaulted by a director when she was 16. The Oscar winner told guests at Elle’s Women in Hollywood event on Oct. 16 that she felt “true disgust at the director who assaulted me when I was 16 years old, and anger at the agents and the producers who made me feel that silence was a condition of my employment.” Witherspoon, 41, added that, sadly, it was not an isolated incident in her career. “I’ve had multiple experiences of harassment…

more allegations

In the wake of the Weinstein scandal, a Los Angeles Times report lists 38 women who say they were sexually harassed by director James Toback. Some claim he approached them on the street with promises of making them “a star.” Actress Adrienne LaValley said in a 2008 hotel encounter, Toback tried to rub his crotch against her leg. Louise Post, a guitarist with alt-rock band Veruca Salt, said Toback, 72, told her “he’d love nothing more than to masturbate while looking into my eyes.” Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn then wrote on Facebook that he been “warning people” about Toback for years. In addition, UK police are investigating a claim from a model that magician David Blaine raped her in 2004. His lawyer said he “vehemently denies” the…

kissing co-stars

AFTER PHOTOS SURFACED on Oct. 22 in the UK’s The Sun of married actor Ewan McGregor publicly kissing his Fargo co-star Mary Elizabeth Winstead in a London cafe, a family source confirmed to WHO that McGregor and wife Eve Mavrakis had separated quietly in May. The Trainspotting actor, 46, had been married to French-born production designer Mavrakis, 51, since 1995 and the couple have four daughters, Clara, 21, Jamyan, 16, Esther, 15, and Anouk, 6. Social-media posts would seem to confirm the split, with McGregor’s more recent Instagram images depicting him without a wedding ring. The timing matches with Winstead, 32, who announced her separation from film director and TV writer husband Riley Stearns, 30, also in May. In a since-deleted May 13 post, she wrote, “We’ve decided to move on…

war of words

CALL IT A TOUGH WEEK FOR Karl Stefanovic. Having lost longtime Today co-host Lisa Wilkinson on Oct. 16, his ex Cassandra Thorburn told Woman’s Day that Stefanovic, 43, who is dating shoe designer Jasmine Yarbrough, 33, “really is dead to me, and no, we won’t be friends again.” Thorburn, who has three children with her former husband of 21 years, said she went through “stages of grief” in becoming a single mum: “It was like someone had died. The children still have a father but I don’t have a husband.” Meanwhile, Wilkinson’s stunning departure from Today for the Ten Network has sparked rumours there were tensions between her and Stefanovic. “They’re pretty different people,” a Nine insider tells WHO, insisting Wilkinson’s shock move was always over pay disparity.” There’s no animosity. Lisa…
