happy holidays

I’ve eaten more ice-creams and sipped on more Aperol spritz than I’d care to admit this holiday period, but boy I’ve had a great time doing it. I spent my days off on the Gold Coast swimming with my family and eating hot chips by the pool – days that didn’t feel dissimilar to everyone else sharing their happy snaps on social media. I’m not sure if everyone worked too hard in 2018, but it felt like my family and friends really gave the holidays their all this year – with road trips, beach days and family celebrations galore. Now we’re back in the office, we’re all calling out for a little less sugar and more hydration (of the non-alcoholic variety, for a change!). We’ve simplified the healthy 2019 kickstart…

stars on holiday

OCEAN LOVE Katy Perry and beau Orlando Bloom, 41, have extended their Christmas getaway, spending their days snorkelling and swimming in Hawaii. A blonde Perry, 34, has enjoyed “a very special year” with her boyfriend, according to a close source who spoke to WHO. “Katy is amazing with Orlando’s son [Flynn]. She is very involved in his life,” the insider reveals, adding: “It makes Orlando very happy.” HOME AGAIN Since returning to Hawaii for a quick break from the world tour of his newest film Aquaman , Jason Momoa is making the most of his time off, soaking up the sun and catching some waves. The skilled surfer took his stand-up paddleboard out at Oahu’s North Shore with his signature locks pulled back into a bun. Even Aquaman himself made sure to set…

miley & liam’s special day

AFTER A 10-YEAR WHIRLWIND romance including two engagements, A-list sweethearts Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have officially married during an intimate ceremony at the couple’s Tennessee home on Dec. 23. After pictures emerged online taken by pal Conrad Carr of the pair cutting a two-tiered cake in their home, fans were quick to speculate that the “Malibu” singer and Hunger Games star had finally tied the knot. In a series of Instagram posts on Dec. 27, Cyrus, 26, confirmed the happy news by uploading several shots of her and her 28-year-old Aussie beau with wedding rings in full show. The “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart” singer let the photos speak for themselves and captioned one of the three posts with a simple yet moving, “10 years later…” The duo met in 2008 on…

‘we’re finally happy!’

KATIE HOLMES AND HER BOYFRIEND Jamie Foxx let their guards down in the last weekend of 2018, with the two locking lips aboard a private yacht in Miami on Dec. 27. The actors, who have mostly kept their four-and-a-half-year courtship away from the public eye, danced on the luxurious boat and were all smiles in each other’s company. The Robin Hood actor and the former Dawson’s Creek star kept it casual: Holmes, 40, donned a pink pinstripe crop top with matching shorts, while Foxx, 51, sported a black T-shirt and jeans. The two even showed off their adventurous side by going for a jetski ride. Before heading out in the evening, the loved-up duo spent the day basking in the sun aboard the boat, with Holmes in a simple black bikini…

terror in morocco

IT WAS THE BARBARIC NATURE OF their deaths that shocked the world. On Dec. 17, the mutilated bodies of two Scandinavian backpackers were found high up in Morocco’s Atlas Mountains, a popular trekking destination for tourists. The two women – Louisa Vesterager Jespersen, 24, of Denmark, and Maren Ueland, 28, of Norway – were stabbed several times, had their throats slit and were decapitated. Authorities were quick to establish this heinous act was the work of terrorists. The horror didn’t end there for the families of the victims. One of the alleged murderers had filmed the attack on Jespersen and uploaded the video to social media, where it, perhaps not surprisingly, went viral after it was watched by thousands of people. According to News Corp, the video, which is thought to be…

elle of a fallout

HER “GREEN ELIXIR” business may be booming globally, but Elle Macpherson starts the new year without the close friendship of her Perth business partner, Andrea Horwood. The tight bond between the two women – until recently frequently posing together on social media while promoting their company WelleCo – has dissolved spectacularly. Just before Christmas, Horwood filed a lawsuit in the WA Supreme Court against Macpherson and fellow WelleCo investor, Rod Jones. In her affidavit, Horwood stated Macpherson and Jones had terminated her position as WelleCo’s chief executive. She also alleged they’d backtracked on a verbal agreement to let Horwood buy more company shares. “It deeply saddens me that I am obliged to take steps against the company I have founded and have grown into a successful global digital and online business,” said Horwood…
