oh, what a night...

Hollywood’s night of nights, the 91st Academy Awards, is just around the corner and it’s looking like it’ll be a night to remember. Queen and Adam Lambert have confirmed they will take the stage to perform, sending fans into an absolute frenzy. Bette Midler will also feature, singing “The Place Where Lost Things Go” from Mary Poppins Returns . And Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper will perform “Shallow” from their blockbuster movie A Star Is Born . But Bradley won’t be in costume as his A Star Is Born character, Jackson Main – he has said that he’ll be performing as himself on stage next to Gaga and is “terrified” of getting up there. Of course, WHO will be covering all of the action as it happens live on who.com.au…

making a statement

SHOWCASING MORE THAN 250 global designers, London Fashion Week, which ran from Feb. 15-19, is one of the biggest in the world. After her brand took a hit in 2017 and lost $15 million, former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham is making a comeback. Describing the woman she envisions wearing her new designs in leopard print and pleats, Beckham said she has an edge to her. “She’s a lady, but she’s not particularly ladylike,” she said. “Or maybe she’s ladylike but not really a lady – whichever way you want to look at it, she’s got a bit of a naughty side.” Sitting in the front row were Beckham’s four children and husband, David, while other shows were attended by the likes of British It girls Alexa Chung and Daisy Lowe. As always, Vogue…

on the mend

POP STAR SELENA GOMEZ HAS been pictured enjoying a girls’ trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, in photos posted to her Instagram page. In the shots, the 26-year-old singer-turned-TV-producer is pictured smiling broadly while on the beach with some of her best female friends, including bride-to-be Courtney Barry and pals Ashley Cook and Raquelle Stevens. The photos have sparked joy for her legions of fans, who have long been concerned for the star’s wellbeing after she was hospitalised for a reported “emotional breakdown” in October last year. Gomez – who suffers from the debilitating autoimmune disease lupus, which was so damaging she required a kidney transplant in 2017 – is believed to have stayed at the mental-health facility until mid to late December. Since then, she has kept a relatively low profile, surfacing…

The couple reportedly celebrated their engagement the following weekend at a party hosted by Perry’s mother, Mary Hudson. off-field drama

PALE, FATIGUED, AND FLANKED BY supporters, Melbourne soccer player Hakeem al-Araibi walked slowly through Tullamarine Airport’s arrival lounge on Feb. 12, finally home after more than two months in a cramped Thai prison. Despite his exhaustion, the Bahrain-born defender for Victoria’s Pascoe Vale FC managed a Cheshire cat grin as dozens of waiting Australians greeted him with cheers. “Welcome home, Hakeem!” yelled one wellwisher, as others rushed forward to hug the 25-year-old. “I just want to thank Australia. It’s amazing to see all the people here,” he said with emotion. It was a rousing end to a traumatic ordeal that began on Nov. 27, when al-Araibi, a political refugee, and his new wife – who has asked for her name not to be publicised – flew into Bangkok to enjoy their honeymoon.…
