Long before I got to work at WHO, I was a loyal reader and I especially loved the Sexiest People of the Year issue – it’s iconic! This year’s cover star Melissa Leong is an icon in her own right and epitomises what“sexy” is. The MasterChef Australia judge is fearless, resilient, intelligent and unapologetically herself – and there’s nothing sexier than that! Joining her on the list are stars who exude inner confidence, which is the sexiest trait of all. Challenging yourself regularly to step outside your comfort zone – as SAS Australia stars Jackson Warne and Firass Dirani do – is sexy. Being in a loving relationship and creating a family together (like Fiona Falkiner and fiancée Hayley Willis) is sexy, having a great sense of humour and being able to…

5 things we’re talking about this week!

1 Harry’s the best house guest A Harry Styles superfan just missed out on meeting the singer, after his car broke down outside her house and her dad invited him to wait inside with a cup of tea. While she was obviously devastated, Styles fed her fish and left a note inviting her to his next concert. 2 Chrissy’s tattoo tribute Chrissy Teigen will always keep the memory of her late son Jack close to her, unveiling new ink honouring her and husband John Legend’s third child – whom they lost last month at 20 weeks of pregnancy. The star shared a snap on Instagram of her wrist tattoo, which features Jack’s name. 3 The Beckhams are heading to Netflix The famous family have landed a $29.4 million deal with Netflix for a fly-on-the-wall documentary…

remembering a movie icon

Sean Connery, the suave and commanding Scottish actor best known for his portrayal of charismatic super-spy James Bond, died in his sleep at 90 on October 31. His wife Micheline Roquebrune, 91, shared the next day her husband had been struggling with dementia. “It was no life for him,” the artist told the UK newspaper Mail on Sunday. “It took its toll on him. He was not able to express himself latterly,” she said, adding that at home in the Bahamas he “got his final wish to slip away without any fuss”. Connery had largely shunned the spotlight after his retirement from acting in 2006. He famously turned down the role of Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings trilogy but did lend his voice to a character in the 2012…

screen legend

Mr Universe While he might not have won the Mr Universe title in 1953, Connery did catch the eye of a local casting director – leading to his big break as Bond. James Bond The actor’s most memorable role was as the ever-charming spy, which he played seven times. He and fellow Bond Roger Moore hold the record for starring in the most Bond films. Indiana Jones Connery played Harrison Ford’s father in the 1989 flick, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. “God, we had fun,” Ford shared in his tribute. Recognition Along with his Oscar for The Untouchables, the star also won three Golden Globes, two BAFTAs, and in 2006 was awarded the AFI Life Achievement Award. Entrapment In the 1999 film, the actor starred alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones – whom he lovingly nicknamed “the kid” while they worked…

fearless women are sexy

starring MELISSA LEONG The star was involved in every step of creating her stunning look for WHO’s cover shoot. “When I saw this pink Jasongrech tulle gown, I was like, ‘Well, I need to try that on,’” she tells WHO. “It’s ephemeral, very feminine and it shows the right amount of body confidence.” Melissa Leong is having quite the year. Not only has she become a bona fide TV superstar, thanks to her starring role on MasterChef Australia (and Junior MasterChef Australia), she’s also been widely lauded for her passion and knowledge of food, and as a fashion icon. Leong also champions inclusivity. ”People contact me all the time to say that me being on MasterChef means they’re getting to see faces like mine – and theirs – in positions of power,”…

He may be the picture of sexy sophistication (damn he looks good in a suit!) but Liam Hemsworth insists in real life he’s the exact opposite. “I’m a complete goofball – I’m not at all a cool guy,” the 30-year-old previously told Men’s Journal. “My brothers used to call me ‘Diplodocus’, which is a large dinosaur. A large slow-moving dinosaur.” While we tend to disagree on the cool factor, the actor’s optimistic outlook on life is definitely one of his more charming attributes – even after losing his home in the Californian wildfires in 2018, and splitting from ex-wife Miley Cyrus last year. “I feel like I’m a pretty positive influence on a lot of people in my life, and I try to be healthy and try to help the world as much…
