Beside the seaside Although I live at least 100 miles from the coast, I can see the sea every day thanks to this mural that my brother-in-law painted on the side of the garage. It has been repainted quite a few times over the years, but it has just been refreshed between lockdowns. I hope you like it as much as I do! June Bennett, by email Your Home says: How beautiful, June! The vibrant colours and seaside design must really brighten up a grey day. Step up We had just taken our carpet up as lockdown began. MIRROR, MIRROR ON THE WALL After recently buying our new home, we found ourselves pondering what could fill a large empty wall. As we have a pitched ceiling, we had lots of options. We took our time looking for a suitable match and were delighted when we came across this church window-style mirror from William Wood Mirrors. Weighing nearly 4 stone and over 6ft tall we had a mammoth task of hanging it safely. Once it was up, we still felt something was missing. The idea of a floating shelf with different types of houseplants in a variety of pots came along and finished off the look. Hannah Clark, by email Your Home says: This mirror looks amazing with your high ceilings, Hannah, and we love the addition of the potted houseplants! ★ Hannah’s…

A well-organised greenhouse can make the world of difference to your plant care duties, so follow these top tips to get yours in prime condition and watch your plants thrive… • Make efficient use of space by dividing your greenhouse into zones. It’s important that these zones are organised according to the needs of each individual plant you grow. Place those that like the heat closer to the glass and those that need shelter in the shadier areas. Perhaps think about separating non-edible plants from edible varieties so that they’re easy to access when ripe. • To make gardening in all weathers possible, clear a workspace to…

we test… sandwich grills

Russell Hobbs panini grill and griddle sandwich toaster, £43 , AO.com This grill heats up in no time and the adjustable hinge opens wide enough to allow even the thickest of sandwiches to be grilled. It’s perhaps the sturdiest of the lot complete with a cool-touch handle, although it could do with a light to indicate when it’s ready to use. It makes delicious toasties with those ever-desirable char marks and they’re ready in as little as three minutes. The square shape makes it better suited to paninis than regular bread as you can grill two at once! VonShef 2 slice deep fill toasted sandwich maker, £24.99 , VonHaus This sandwich maker couldn’t be easier to use – simply plug in, wait for the green light to go out and fill with your…
