introduction

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV) This time of year, in the starkness of winter, trees can be difficult to tell apart. All the bare branches look similar without leaves or fruit. Yet when the buds begin to blossom, there can be no mistaking their identity. The same can be said about people; as we grow closer to Christ, the fruit of the Spirit blooms in our lives. Jesus said, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in Me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing” (John 5:15). Life is not as complicated as we sometimes make it out to be. We worry about things that…

pray about your resolutions

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 (NIV) HOW ARE YOU doing on your resolutions and goals for 2019? If you aren’t as successful as you had hoped, it’s okay. Making changes, even small ones, can be difficult. Remember you don’t have to do it alone. Jesus can help you. He can help you start anew. experience god’s glory

When Solomon finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the Lord filled the temple. The priests could not enter the temple of the Lord because the glory of the Lord filled it. 2 Chronicles 7:1–2 (NIV) THE GLORY OF God is so magnificent it is impossible to comprehend. Yet sometimes worry overshadows the light of His tremendous power. If this happens, remember how awesome He is. Take a moment, close your eyes and imagine His glory. Think about your concerns and know that God is on your side. Lord, God Almighty, fill me with Your glory. REFLECTIONS…

god’s medicine

Now a woman, having a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any, came from behind and touched the border of His garment. And immediately her flow of blood stopped. Luke 8:43–44 (NKJV) THE WOMAN IN the above verse had tried every treatment and still was not healed. When earthly wisdom and cures disappoint us, there is always hope. If there is something in your life that needs healing— problems, a sickness, a memory —reach out to Jesus and asks for His help. Heavenly Father, I love You and praise You. REFLECTIONS…

the peace of his presence

For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. Isaiah 41:13 (NIV) IT IS HUMAN nature to be afraid when your future seems unsure and your problems weigh on your mind. Be assured that God knows your path and will help you through any problems you encounter. Instead of focusing on your fear, turn to your faith. Know that “He helps us in the most unexpected ways. He cares for us and saves us when we are low.” (Psalm 136-23) Lord Jesus, help me to feel the peace of Your presence. REFLECTIONS…
