Before joining the team at Country Living, I was a long-term subscriber. Every year, I’d look forward to the December issue landing on my doorstep. For me, it heralded the start of the festive season and gave me permission to start feeling Christmassy (even in November!). It became the centrepiece of a seasonal ritual: after reading it, I’d position it at the top of my ‘in-use’ magazine pile on our oversized footstool.
