AQueensland landscaping business’ recent addition of a Toyota Huski skid steer loader has in some instances reduced its labour overheads by the order of 50 per cent, Toyota says. GreenScope Property Services operations manager Craig Gierke says the addition of the Toyota Huski 5SDK5 skid steer loader to his Brisbane-based fleet has allowed him to tackle a wider range of jobs across the South East Queensland region and complete them more efficiently, with half the labour previously needed. “We have been using it for a lot of work, including for bigger jobs and including ground maintenance, softscape and hardscape work,” says Gierke. “It’s a very versatile machine in terms of the things it can do, such as preparing surfaces like driveways, rubbish removals, prepping for retainer walls, levelling ground and excavating for drainage.…

electric ambit

British agricultural and construction manufacturing giant JCB is now in full production of its electric mini excavators and electric teletrucks. JCB has been extremely busy recently living up to its motto of “always looking for a better way”, evidence of which is clear with a host of new products and existing machine upgrades unveiled. Launching 25 new products in 2018, JCB is upping the ante for 2019 with 35 new product launches planned. JCB says the global market for construction machines in 2018 was one million but adds 2019 will be less due to a slower rate of growth. With an increasing focus and demand for alternatives to diesel power, the company is now in full production of its new electric mini excavator and electric Teletruk. However, according to JCB chairman Lord Bamford, there…

Loadscan, specialists in load volume scanning technology, is opening up an office in NSW. Established in 2012, Loadscan’s headquarters is based in Hamilton, New Zealand, and the company has exported its load volume scanner (LVS) worldwide to a variety of industries wanting to accurately track the movement of bulk material. The Loadscan load profiling system gives real-time data, including live 3D imaging, of every load so that fill factors and correct loading can be monitored. It provides an exact picture (with +/- 1 per cent accuracy) of the quantity of material being extracted/hauled and scanning trucks on their return route will allow companies to monitor (and manage) wasteful carry-back. “We got our foot in the door in Australia when our load volume scanner was a proven success in Aeris Resources Tritton mine and…
