Now is the time for Africa to shine
Since 2020, our lives have been significantly impacted by global and local events. Firstly, we had to endure the implications of the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdown measures imposed on not only us here on the great continent of Africa, but also those in other countries. The pandemic revealed the fragility of the world's supply chain, and its ports are only now beginning to return to normal. Secondly, the Russia-Ukraine war has had a negative impact on food and energy prices worldwide, leading to an increase in input costs across Africa (and elsewhere in the world). With the rise in the cost of commodities, global food prices have skyrocketed, and 2022 might well be remembered largely for high inflation and economic uncertainty.
