I was born in Alice, and grew up between Bhisho and King William’s Town. Black Twitter might call us Eastern Cape kids “Shamrock Twitter”, but I’m very proud of my roots – and our local pastry favourite. My mother, who singlehandedly raised me and my siblings through challenging circumstances, encouraged hard work, individuality, free expression and activism. From her, I learnt the importance of championing women, new voices and uniting people who come from diverse backgrounds. When I began my journey into the creative industry, I vowed to use my platform to open doors of opportunity for others. And now, I am at the helm of this powerful global brand called Glamour.
