welcome

We like to think that every issue of Hello! Fashion Monthly is special, but this one will take some beating. Legendary photographer, and personal hero of mine, Tim Walker shot our striking cover with model Edie Campbell and her BFF artist Christabel MacGreevy. Their fledgling fashion brand Itchy Scratchy Patchy collaborated with some of the biggest names in the industry to create a wonderland of graphic art and self-expression. We handed the duo the reigns for our accessory special cover shoot and we were blown away by the results. Inside, we showcase the most eye-catching accessory trends for SS19, from Miu Miu to Mango, celebrating every glorious detail. Bag, shoe and bijoux lovers prepare to be wooed! ■…

TREND REPORT From crafty 70s bags to hyper-feminine shoes, these are the ten accessory trends you need to know about for SS19 TOTALLY TRANSPARENT(POWERED BY KURT GEIGER) In the age of oversharing, no accessory gets the job done quite like a clear bag or shoe. Make like Brandon Maxwell and slip a bottle of bubbly into a see-through tote. TO THE MAX In this Insta world, it is the embellished and outright kooky that grab our attention most, and the catwalks have cottoned onto this. From the rebirth of Fendi’s baguette bag, complete with parrot print and embroidered flowers, to Dolce & Gabbana’s opulent headgear – if it works for the ‘gram… STYLE TIPYou’ll have to adopt a more-is-more attitude when it comes to layering.…

a step ahead

Despite her relaxed demeanour what strikes you instantly about Kurt Geiger’s chief creative officer, Rebecca Farrar-Hockley, is that everything she executes is considered, albeit accompanied by a good dose of luck.Like when she fell into her first retail job by accident. “When I left university I needed to earn some money desperately; so I started temping at Selfridges – I didn’t leave for 11 years,” she tells us, explaining how she moved up via the company’s management training scheme, eventually becoming a buyer – “it just happened,” she says.We meet Rebecca at Kurt Geiger’s London headquarters, a slick red modernist building accessed through a blink-and-you’llmiss-it passage in Clerkenwell’s Britton Street.“We moved here about seven years ago,” she explains. “We were in the same offices for ages on Bermondsey Street,…

off the scale

BAG OF TRICKS Reptilian print bags in a rainbow array of bold acid and pastel hues were favoured among the style set. Too bold? Stick to one classic hue with OTT embellishments. COVER UP Treat snake prints as your new neutrals by adding them to your everyday wardrobe. Layer over a basic tee and classic boyfriend jeans. MIX & MATCH To really make an impact, double up your print with a contrasting pair of boots – the more 80s inspired and extravagant the better. (PHOTOS: GORUNWAY.
