welcome

Welcome to the June issue, in these troubling times we’re here to lift your spirits with some inspiring style. Our cover star this month is true fashion royalty. Granddaughter of uber designer Diane, Talita Von Furstenberg is paving her own fashion path with a collection for the eponymous brand. Her TVF for DVF range is fresh and vibrant, much like the lady herself, read about her ambitions and her incredible family tree. Don’t miss our 20-page Luxe For Less special with the fashion team’s edit of the best of the high street, because right now we could all do with some retail therapy (even if it’s from the sofa). We’ve done the legwork so you can shop online and make a beeline for all the gems. Stay well!…

the agenda

THAT 70S SHOW True 70s denim was eye-wateringly tight at the top and generously slack at the bottom (think Tom Jones hip-huggers) but this season’s iterations by the likes of Celine and Saint Laurent are far more forgiving. Consider high-waisted, gentle boot-cuts and A-line midis your wardrobe staples. THE DARK SIDE Indigo denim has Bottega Veneta’s blessing, so we’re predicting a spike in this particular hue’s popularity. Whether you’re going full Canadian tuxedo in matching shirt and trousers or trying out structural dresses like the ones we saw at Molly Goddard – this is denim with after-dark appeal. Style Tip Switch out your light-washed jeans for some smartly hemmed denim in darker indigo hues. This dress gives us total 90s vibes. Wear it with ankle boots. TIE-DYE FOR Tie-dye is having a renaissance in the sartorial hemisphere,…

revamped classics

Get Shreddy Claire Waight Keller made the best case for ripped jeans at her Givenchy SS20 show, styling them with streamlined tailored jackets, boyish printed blouses and chunky over-the-knee boots. Finishing Touches Take a trip to the haberdashery and add playful touches like embroidered flowers, gems and beading to your denim a la Antonio Marras, Paco Rabanne and Celine. Mix and Patch From Alberta Ferretti’s tonal twin-sets to Antonio Marras’ silk-patched overshirts, next season’s patchwork demands a totally fresh approach. Work the trend head-to-toe and add here, there and everywhere.…

fashion royalty

Talita Von Furstenberg is in Paris to see her grandmother receive the Chevalier de la Légion D’Honneur for her contribution to fashion. We are obviously talking about Diane Von Furstenberg, the global fashion designer who has sold over 15 million wrap dresses, since pioneering the design in the 70s. It was said to empower women and the trailblazer’s philanthropy work is also considerable. “The award is really deserving,” Talita tells us proudly, when we meet at an apartment on the Left Bank for her cover shoot. “She does a million things every single day. She’s an amazing inspiration in terms of fashion, but also so much more.” The whole family flew into the French capital for the ceremony, which was followed by a celebratory dinner also attended by Anna Wintour, Natalia Vodianova,…
