welcoming us to her west country farmhouse, wellness expert liz earle on feeling grateful, her passion for healthy living and how she’s enjoying the prime of her life

‘We live in this rhythm and cycle of life that you can be cut off from in the city’ Set in 180 acres and surrounded by woodland and fields deep in the West Country lies Liz Earle’s beautiful farmhouse. The author, wellbeing expert and TV presenter bought and restored the sprawling property 15 years ago and it’s now home to a flock of 100 sheep together with free-roaming chickens that produce organic eggs. A tenant farmer also grazes his beef cattle on the land and there is an impressive vegetable patch that showcases brightly coloured dahlias among the kale and green beans. “What I love about being in the countryside is you’re very connected to nature, you see the seasons,” Liz tells HELLO! at our exclusive interview and photoshoot. “When you look out of the…

back to work in madrid penelope cruz shimmers on set with c0-star antonio banderas

With her dark hair teased high – with plenty of volume – and wearing a sequinned catsuit, actress Penélope Cruz was a far cry from her usual sleekly styled self last week. However, this wasn’t a drastic change in image. Instead, the Oscar winner was sporting her new costume to film the comedy Official Competition in her homeland of Spain. Completing her 1980s-inspired look with dark sunglasses, 46-year-old Penélope was clearly relishing getting into character on the streets of Madrid with co-star Antonio Banderas. SHOOTING STARS In the film, Antonio stars as egotistical actor Félix Rivero, who clashes with renowned director Lola Cuevas – played by Penélope – on the set of a fictional movie. Filming resumed late last month after the production was shut down after eight days’ shooting in March, when the coronavirus…

The historic setting for so many royal weddings and christenings is situated within the grounds of the palace and is steeped in royal history – known for being the wedding venue of Queen Victoria, and more recently chosen by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for the christenings of Prince George and Prince Louis. Flora chose designer Emilia Wickstead – also a favourite of Kate, the Duchess of Sussex and the Countess of Wessex – to create her exquisite long-sleeved wedding gown with an elegant square neckline, while…

the inside story

THE QUEEN INVESTITURES ARE CUT BY COVID Always one to do her duty, the Queen has temporarily had to let events overtake her. Last week it was announced that all forthcoming investiture ceremonies and other “large-scale” gatherings planned at Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle this year have been postponed due to Covid-19 restrictions. There have been no investitures since the end of March, although the Queen did preside over a special, one-off ceremony in July, dubbing NHS fundraising hero Captain Sir Tom Moore in the grounds of Windsor Castle (left). A statement on the royal family’s official website said: “A variety of possibilities were examined to see if it was possible for investitures to safely take place in line with the guidelines. Sadly, due to the large numbers of guests and recipients attending,…
