When I made a high fat, low carbohydrate diet my new way of eating more than a year ago, there were two absolutely delicious highlights. The first was the regular guilt-free pleasure of crunching down on crisp roasted pork crackling; every time we ate it until our lips shone, I repeated with a happy smile: ‘Tomorrow we’re another kilo down’. And the second was the bowls of berries that are on display in my fridge these days – blueberries and raspberries to eat with almonds and yoghurt for breakfast, and strawberries with cream for dessert on special days.
